Healthy Roots NRV
About Healthy Roots NRV Healthy Roots NRV (HRNRV) serves as a regional collaborative model designed to improve the health and well-being of individuals, families, and businesses within the New River Valley. Recognizing that a thriving region relies on deep connections and collective action, HRNRV functions as a "network of networks," bringing together established organizations to share information, increase coordination, and pursue shared priorities.
Our Approach HRNRV facilitates collaboration across four primary affiliate networks:
Aging in Community: Supporting individuals to age safely and comfortably in their own homes.
First Steps: Providing resources for early childhood education and development.
Partnership for Access to Healthcare (PATH): Expanding access to physical, mental, and behavioral health services.
Thrive: Increasing access to fresh, nutritious food.
In addition to these core pillars, HRNRV hosts task forces dedicated to addressing systemic regional challenges—such as transportation and data collection—while inviting broader participation from individuals and organizations to help shape local priorities.
Data-Driven Impact Our work is grounded in ongoing community assessment, including the triennial Community Health Assessment led by the Community Health Assessment Team (CHAT). By utilizing surveys, focus groups, and secondary data, HRNRV aligns its efforts with identified regional needs, including mental health support, socioeconomic stability, and access to essential community resources. Through this intentional, data-informed structure, HRNRV strives to create a healthier, more connected New River Valley for all.
