My research largely centers on two inter-related processes referred to as stress spillover (the carryover of workday stress reactions to post-work time) and work recovery (the replenishment of energy and attention depleted by working during time away from work). Both of these processes are critical to the maintenance of employee health, wellness, and job performance over short- and longer-term time intervals. I also maintain an active interest in how a range of different employee health-relevant behaviors (e.g., physical activity, sleep) influence and are influenced by stress spillover and work recovery over time.
