My research program has always been interdisciplinary, with past collaborations in mathematics, and economics, and continuing collaborations in education/pedagogy, clinical genetics, food science, and music. I am not afraid to cross disciplinary boundaries, such as food science and genetics, where I am exploring use of a nutraceutical to treat genetic causes of obesity and infertility, or education and exercise, where I am trying to understand the connection between body weight, exercise level and academic success. In each of these, my basic and applied research findings can have a direct impact on health and well-being of animals and humans.
