Although all of my training has been in basic science, specifically neuroscience, it has become glaringly obvious that if we want to improve human health we must consider the human context, the WHOLE human context. My work centers on mothers and infants, and the environments they find themselves in, and ultimately how these environments and systems impact infant brain and behavioral development. It is the ultimate goal of my work to optimize neurodevelopmental outcomes for infants and their families. What a healthy brain and behavior look like is not cut and dry, but really is defined by the individual and the community.
