Matthew Komelski, PhD
I teach a course on integrative health, including mindfulness-based practices and whole health theory. I also collaborate with Hokie Wellness to support and evaluate peer-facilitated mindfulness programs for college students as part of my Capstone course. In the local community, I have collaborated with clinicians, public health professionals and researchers to plan and lead mindfulness-based community health programs, prevention protocol and to conduct community-based studies. I have experience coaching people of all ages, but work mostly college-aged students and older adults with normal age-related conditions. I also have experience coaching individuals with cognitive impairments, including strokes, dementia and traumatic brain injuries, as well as individuals with PTSD and anxiety disorders.
