Dr. Powell's research focuses on displacement narratives and the ways that people report the lived experiences surrounding displacement and forced relocation. Using ethnographic and oral history methodologies, Dr. Powell's research provides insights into the ways that policies about displacement impact communities and individuals. Often associated with trauma, forced displacement brings about many impacts, including those on public health and individual and community well-being.
