My research aims to develop tools to broaden the accessibility of DNA testing for improved biosurveillance techniques. We are developing focused ultrasound extraction (FUSE) as a portable DNA extraction platform capable of performing point-of-contact DNA release for applications in diagnostics and environmental secuirty. Current work aims to integrate FUSE with DNA detection systems for rapid, point-of-contact DNA testing in low-resource settings.
