Currently, I am a research associate professor in the department of industrial and systems engineering, VT, working in the commonwealth center of advanced manufacturing. My research activities is interdisciplinary, spanning from neural engineering to microelectronics, and advanced manufacturing. Before joining VT, I was a research assistant professor at West Virginia University, where I developed a flexible robust IrOx neural electrode to successfully modulate the heart rate and respiratory rate in a mouse model. I used to be a research scientist in MIT Media Lab where I successfully developed a flexible piezoelectric AlN sensing array to facilitate ALS patients' communication. My research has been reported by MIT News, West Virginia News, and federal funding agencies such as NSF and NIH.
