Shariful Islam is working as a PhD student at Virginia Tech, USA. Dr. Islam's PhD research focuses on the epidemiology and ecology of emerging zoonotic disease in wildlife, primarily bats; threats to identify viral agents; behavioral risk characterization in high-risk communities; and investigating different zoonotic disease outbreaks like Nipah virus infection, avian influenza, and others related to wildlife.
