Dr. Alireza Shojaei's research advances the Whole Health Consortium's mission by bridging the built environment and holistic well-being through transdisciplinary approaches that integrate AI, digital technologies, and equity-focused solutions. His research on digital twins, smart buildings, and construction automation examines how physical environments impact human health across multiple domains, from indoor environmental quality to construction worker safety to community-scale infrastructure resilience. His background spanning construction management, computer science, and strategic business enables collaborative research that crosses traditional disciplinary boundaries, employing emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain, and robotics to address complex health and well-being challenges. This system-thinking approach recognizes that healthy, sustainable, and equitable buildings and infrastructure are foundational to supporting people and communities in pursuing meaningful lives.
