School-Based Health Alliance of Virginia

The School-Based Health Alliance of Virginia (SBHAVA) started in June of 2025. SBHAVA is the state affiliate for the National School-Based Health Alliance. Our mission is to improve access to comprehensive, integrated health services through school-based health care, enhancing health and education outcomes for students, their families, and communities (you can find more information at https://www.sbhava.org/).

The School-Based Health Alliance of Virginia is embarking on an ambitious initiative to integrate health care within educational settings, effectively transforming how students access vital health services. By embedding school-based health care into the existing educational infrastructure, the SBHAVA aims to create sustainable and community-centered access points for health care. The goal is to enhance the existing health systems' capacity to deliver coordinated and high-quality health services directly to students.
